With support from the CAC, SFArtsED will produce two 6-week long summer arts camps in 2023 and 2024 for 1000 children ages 9-14 at Miraloma Elementary and Ruth Asawa SF School of the Arts. Funds will support salaries for teaching artists and provide free or partial tuition for 300 youth.
SFArtsED’s programs and services are designed to focus on community and neighborhood partnerships; creating spaces for young artists of color; place-based arts education; supporting emergent community-centered inquiry; and restorative practices. SFArtsED is recognized for our in-school AIR programs spanning the spectrums of performing and visual arts. In addition to in-school residencies, out-of-school programs thrive year-round including SFArtsED Summer (an annual 6-week arts camp); SFArtsED Players, a musical theater pre-professional repertory ensemble; Big Blue After School program in Glen Park; and Artists in Residence @ MSP with projects curated and presented in our 1800 square foot multidisciplinary gallery and arts education resource lab within the Minnesota Street Project campus.
