The mission of The San Diego Museum of Art is to inspire, educate, and cultivate curiosity through great works of art.. Its vision is to serve the people of the San Diego region as its only encyclopedic art museum, through exhibitions and public programs both within and outside of its walls, while also connecting the local community with the global art world by presenting traveling exhibitions, building, conserving and sharing the Museum’s collections with other world renowned museums.
