With support from the California Arts Council, SACRAMENTO MENS CHORUS will perform a free public concert. This concert will model diversity, increase personal growth and transformation of individuals, while building a nurturing family environment for singers. By putting on a concert consisting of a diverse group of performers, the chorus aims to honor and promote the power of diversity while creating a greater community among its members, the broader LGBTQ+ community, and the wider community.
The Sacramento Gay Men’s Chorus was founded in 1984 as a singing group that aimed to foster a sense of community and provide support for gays and lesbians in the Sacramento area. Over the past 35 years, through musical performance and outreach programs, the chorus has grown to become an integral part of the Sacramento music community, as well as a voice for the LGBTQ+ community in the greater Sacramento area.
