With support from the California Arts Council, ROYAL STAGE CHRISTIAN PERFORMING ARTS will continue and expand our Crown-A-Princess program. This program provides free dance, theater, and art classes to low-income girls and young women. They also have access to pro-bono counseling services, as well as transportation and grocery assistance. We anticipate 50% of funding to go toward maintaining the current program in Sacramento, and 50% to establishing a duplicate program in the Los Angeles area.
Royal Stage has three core organizational programs and services:
1) A community performing arts studio offering ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, and hip hop dance as well as musical theater and visual art. Classes are divided into age-appropriate sections.
2) The Crown-A-Princess program provides free and very deeply discounted classes and performance opportunities to low-income girls and women. Participants in this program can also receive free counseling services, transportation assistance to and from the studio, and grocery assistance for their family.
3) Royal Stage partners with other organizations to provide arts programming as an enhancement to their great work. We provide keynote speakers, entertainment, instruction, and support to schools and non-profits.
