With the support from the California Arts Council, the Pacific Island Ethnic Art Museum “Te ‘iti nei te marama kīkau: Reconnecting work practices to the land for our wellbeing.” This project combines written research, process photography, and personal reflection working in harmony with the lunar calendar to synthesize storytelling.
Our core programs and services include rotating exhibits, permanent collection, educational programs, and living arts. Our programs and services advances the mission of our institution and our dedication to uplifting narratives of diverse communities and combating erasure of traditional practices. As the only Pacific Island museum in the continental United States, PIEAM provides unrestricted access to the community of Pacific Islander artists/cultural practitioners to reclaim the power to construct their narrative.
