With support from the California Arts Council, RAWdance will undertake a new strategic planning process with Vogl Consulting, driving the organization for the next three years under its recently expanded leadership model. CAC grant funds would be used to support the work undertaken by Vogl Consulting to guide and assist RAWdance’s Co-Artistic Directors, staff, and board through the process.
RAWdance creates and performs contemporary dance works for the stage, screen, and public spaces. The company prioritizes work in non-traditional venues, such as parks, civic spaces, restaurants, the SF Public Library, galleries, and more, which increase access, participation, and connection. Since 2007, RAWdance has presented over 150 Bay Area artists’ work through the CONCEPT series, its biannual, informal salon. In 2021, the company launched its Radiate Fellowship, supporting three SF-based early-career BIPOC dance makers. Through all of its productions and programming, RAWdance aims to bring communities together to experience dance, raise the profile and inclusivity of the art form, and expand opportunities for local artists.
