With support from the California Arts Council, The Flight Deck will partner with the Black Arts Movement Business District Community Development Corporation (BAMBD, CDC), and the Oakland African American Chamber of Commerce (OAACC) to present the second annual BAMBDFEST in August 2020, featuring theater, dance, poetry, fashion, visual art, music, panels, a Black-owned business walk, a tour of historic 14th St., and African Bazaars to animate Oakland’s only formally declared Arts District.
RWE’s current programs are:
Original Productions: Creating and producing original, multidisciplinary play and art events.
The School of Fierce Play: A set of adult education programs that teach our artistic and entrepreneurial methodology.
Ensemble: A standing group of performers, writers, musicians and visual artists, who train, create, and produce work together over time.
TFD’s current programs are:
Subsidized Arts Space: Affordable performance, rehearsal, office and storage space for community-based artists, prioritizing local groups run by and/or serving POC.
Co-Productions: Curated performances & events co-presented by TFD and other groups.
Gallery: Rotating visual art shows, often in conjunction with performances in the space.
Reimagining Business Models in the Arts: A collaboration with other organizations to research alternate arts business models and eventually build one.
