Playwrights Foundation (PF) was founded in 1976 and is today widely recognized as one of the top organizations in the U.S. dedicated to the creative development and career acceleration of contemporary playwrights. Our mission is to support and champion diverse contemporary playwrights in the creation of new plays to sustain theater as a vital, dynamic art form. PF actively fosters the creative process of playmaking, and the dissemination of new work to national theater producers for production.
