PCO is a resident company of Livermore’s Bankhead Theater and also performs in Lafayette, with a history of serving additional communities throughout the region. The organization presents a range of programs designed to engage diverse audiences and expand access to live orchestral music. PCO concerts create live experiences that are engaging, welcoming, and meaningful, fostering lasting connections between audiences, artists, and the music.

PCO presents multiple concert programs each season across two primary locations. These programs balance core repertoire with accessible and engaging programming, supported by spoken introductions that guide audiences into the music and enhance understanding.

Concert presentation, scheduling, and program design are shaped by audience engagement and feedback, including the transition to daytime performances and the development of family-oriented and thematic programs that broaden access while maintaining artistic depth.

A dedicated program each season features new works by emerging composers through the Winning Scores initiative, providing professional performance opportunities and direct engagement between composers and audiences.

PCO’s educational programs include in-school elementary assemblies, full-orchestra student matinee performances, and clinics for middle and high school students. These programs introduce fundamental musical concepts through live performance and participation, reaching thousands of students annually across Livermore, Pleasanton, Hayward, Pittsburg, and Richmond.
