Project Description
With support from the California Arts Council, OX will produce Work MORE! 9: HERstory at Brava Theatre in San Francisco. Work MORE! 9, the next iteration of OX’s semi-annual multidisciplinary drag arts project, will be produced at Brava’s Cabaret Space. The six-show run (plus workshopping and dress rehearsals) will serve 600 people, premiering in June 2021. Directed by Mica Sigourney, Work MORE! 9 features four drag artists co-creating a narrative of a hero’s journey, starring audience members.
Organization Summary
OX’s core annual programming consists of monthly experimental and cabaret nightlife events, WorkMORE! a semi-annual commissioning platform for performing artists working within Drag’s expanded field, 2-3 performances annually in theaters, galleries, museums, storefronts or public spaces. OX also provides free performance and finance workshops for artists.
