The mission of Outside the Lens is to empower youth to use photography, filmmaking, and digital media to create change within themselves, their community and their world. We engage youth, encourage them to tell their stories and teach them that participation in their community’s future makes a difference. Since 2001, over 18,000 OTL students have learned photography, film, and digital media arts through hands-on projects exploring identity, family, community, the environment, and the world.
