Organization Summary

Our storefront in Hanoi was engaged in land mine removal and Agent Orange programs resulting in James & Nina Rhodes becoming United States State Department Fulbright Educational Specialist under Secretary Clinton then Secretary Kerry conducting art and educational programs throughout Vietnam; after the Bosnian war (Jay Craig) was engaged in reconstruction and city planning there; (Richard Thornton) has written a dozen books on true Native history focusing on the Coweta Creek Confederacy in an attempt to preserve our heritage; Nina Rhodes has conducted art and educational programs in Alabama, Arizona, California; James and Nina Rhodes, during our years in Vietnam, interacted with their 54 ethnic tribes in a cultural and artistic level interfacing some joint projects in the United States. Our programs are open to the receptiveness of the communities we serve and we conduct community town halls throughout the granting periods whereas adjustment and changes, if necessary, can be implemented and/or programs added or hours extended! During the past three years we have instituted art in all the secondary grades for students in District 2 of Mariposa County. We have provided community classes in painting, sketching, pottery, sculpture, music, poetry, drama, film making, historical research-our most recent documentary (1 hour 20 minutes) on the California Gold Rush was provided to every member of the CAC and for free download to the public. We are also working with the Washington State Arts Council and the Veteran’s Administration to establish a data base for approved research relating to Animals as Therapy and Art as Therapy programs which we hope the CAC would incorporate our research into our state’s database for public access. We have spent extensive time regarding these art related programs at the Western Interstate Commission for Higher education (Denver) and the Veteran Administration’s Mental Illness Research Education & Clinical Center (Washington).
