The young, dynamic Oakwood Brass presents a program of music that is fun, lively, and educational for all ages. Using the classical brass quintet sound – two trumpets, horn, trombone, and tuba – the group presents a wide range of exciting programming with selections from the classical, jazz, patriotic, and popular genres. Featuring engaging musical examples and group activities, Oakwood Brass’ mission is to revitalize chamber ensemble performances using contemporary sounds from popular media to bring new listeners to classical chamber music. Connecting the classical sounds to the music of today, the group enriches children and adults with knowledge of their own cultures.
