With the support from the California Arts Council, the NTC Foundation will expand its successful Liberty School program, which provides hundreds of at-risk public school students arts education classes during the school day and throughout the school year to expand their world through the arts. Classes are tied to standards-based curriculum and taught professional San Diego Teaching Artists at classrooms and studios of 15 arts and culture organizations located at ARTS DISTRICT Liberty Station.
Programs to achieve objectives: 1) RENT SUBSIDY PROGRAM for nonprofit arts groups to assure their long-term stability in the ARTS DISTRICT; 2) LIBERTY SCHOOL Arts Education Program helps underserved students develop academic skills through the arts and improve their ability to succeed; 3) ARTS COLLABORATIVES provides funds to encourage collaboration among artists and arts groups to create programs that engage the public in the work they do; (4) Art in Public Places
