With support from the California Arts Council, New Vintage Baroque Inc. dba Music Sierra will present Musical Headwaters: Watershed, 4th of seven commissions in the Musical Headwaters series. This unique and innovative program commissions new works inspired by the Sierra Valley, headwaters of the Feather River, which bridge nature-based education with the visual and performing arts. In its fourth year, Musica Sierra will engage Chanticleer in a week-long residency at Sierra-Plumas Joint Unified School District, culminating with two final public performances at historic Diamond S Ranch and the Community Arts Center in Truckee, Ca. The GRAMMY® Award-winning vocal ensemble Chanticleer is known worldwide as “an orchestra of voices” for its wide-ranging repertoire and dazzling virtuosity. It will be the first time in our community’s history to have a professional choir of this caliber perform.
