With support from the California Arts Council, Network of Myanmar American Association (NetMAA) will strengthen and improve the organization’s ability to fulfill its missions of cultural education and impact to the expanding Myanmar community. As the community grows, the cultural outreach and awareness become more important to sustain and support multi-generational and life-long arts learning opportunities. Funds will support Myanmar Film Festival of LA and Myanmar Cultural Dance Academy.
Founded in early 2006, the Network of Myanmar American Association (NetMAA) is a non-partisan, non-political, and non-profit organization that serves the Myanmar-American community and promotes the arts and culture of Myanmar, also known as Burma. Within just a few years, NetMAA community outreach programs have multiplied from just one program in 2006 to five in 2008. NetMAA is a grassroots underserved community-based organization that understands the Myanmar (Burmese) culture and has worked closely with other Asian and Southeast Asian communities across the United States for more than twelve years. NetMAA holds various outreach programs throughout the year to benefit the Myanmar-American community. The following is a summary of our community outreach efforts.
• Cultural Performances
• Fundraising Music Concerts
• Myanmar Cultural Dance Academy
• Myanmar Film Festival of Los Angeles (MFFLA)
• Free U.S. Immigration Workshop for Myanmar (Burmese) Community
