With support from the California Arts Council, MEXICAN HERITAGE CENTER & GALLERY INC will be able to keep our doors open. We have not been able to have any fundraisers, cultural events, or artist exhibits due to COVID-19. Support from this grant, will help pay for rent and monthly utilities.
Some of the many activities that the Mexican Heritage Center and Gallery sponsors and celebrates include: art exhibits by local artists, traditional Mexican holidays such as the Day of the Dead, Nativity scene exhibits, poetry reading, symposiums, and art workshops for students. Receptions are held for all art exhibits. The admission for this is free to allow families of low income to attend. Artists work with children in the after school programs to do art, music and folkloric dancing.
