Project Description
With support from the California Arts Council, Mannakin Theater & Dance will expand operations of its original outreach ptogram, Cultivating Ballet Culture. This program brings long-term benefits of high quality ballet training, studio community and performing opportunities to underserved youth and families by overcoming the persistent obstacles of cost and proximity.
Organization Summary
The headquarters of Mannakin Theater & Dance are located in San Francisco at the MTD operated iMPACt Center for Art & Dance, a 6,300 square foot facility reserved for performance and creation, and is rented out for rehearsals, performances and large-format groups gatherings.
MTD provides fiscal sponsorship services to upcoming organizations and projects.
iMPACt Genesis Residencies—In 2024 Mannakin Theater & Dance launched a residency aimed at providing early and mid-stage creators a laboratory for creation in the generously apportioned iMPACt Center for Art & Dance. Each artist has up to 54 hours of time in the iMPACt Center, receives a $500 stipend and co-produces a performance with the other residents.
