Project Description

With support from the California Arts Council, MAKARA CENTER FOR THE ARTS will expand its specialized library services, serve as a resource center and hub for local artists, and develop impactful and engaging programs for Santa Ana communities.

Organization Summary

The primary program of Makara Center for the Arts is its free lending library and art center. Over 1,000 books and periodicals are available for free to Santa Ana communities to support literary engagement, free education, and increased literacy rates. Makara regularly hosts free educational programs including science presentations, creative writing workshops, arts & culture discussions, and family story time.
