Project Description

With support from the California Arts Council, LITTLE VOICES will continue our community building and arts engagement in Los Angeles, working with songwriter and performer Crystal Starr to provide free concerts for foster youth to strengthen participants’ sense of overall well-being. The performances create a safe environment for youth to discuss the emotional impact of the music and form meaningful connections with one another. Performances occur throughout the year of 2019 in Los Angeles.

Organization Summary

All Little Voices concerts involve foster or adopted youth as production staff and volunteers, giving them real life work experience in the entertainment industry while producing all our concerts at the highest quality. Little Voices is a next level live concert production featuring (4) Four Key performers, (60) Sixty+ musicians and dancers. Pre-event programming includes guest speakers presenting relevant discussion matter, pop-up pampering sessions and gifts. Youth simultaneously participate in stage craft techniques back stage and on set. All within a (3) three hour matinee production experience. We hold listening sessions with our youth to allow their voices to be heard and to tailor programs that support their aspirations and goals. Sessions promote self-esteem, self-awareness, and forgiveness. We understand that music is a positive influence that impacts today’s youth.
