Project Description

With the support from the California Arts Council, Little Saigon San Diego Foundation will able to convert an unused private space and integrate with existing pedestrian pathways into an innovative mini park. The park will include public art benches, decorated mural, pagoda with lanterns, and an interactive boat sculpture.

Organization Summary

Little Saigon Resource Center
Help seniors and family access to services and program they need by providing translation and interpretation services such as applying for affordable housing, housing rental assistance, CA relief grant for businesses, unemployment, Calfresh, Supplement Security Income, Medical & subsidize health insurance, shelter & emergency housing, senior abuse victims, Vietnamese homeless individuals, individuals from Second Chance program, and etc

Culture & Education:
• Little Saigon Art and Performance – Monthly sing, dance, poetry, and music instrument classes for Vietnamese adults to learn, exchange ideas, and improve skills.
• Children Art and Performance – free weekly art, piano, and dance classes to Vietnamese children Kindergarten to 5th grade.

Community Empowerment Program:
Understand our government through educational lessons on topic such as what is redistricting, how prop get on our ballot? what is strong mayor? Etc.

Cultural Celebration & Special Events:
Annual SD Lunar New Year Festival, mid-Autumn Moon festival, Voter Education and Civic engagement, and other cultural events
