With support from the California Arts Council, Lenora Lee Dance will create and present “A Bridge to Now” culminating in four multimedia, immersive dance performances, and one panel discussion at Dance Mission Theater September 2024 as a part of the company’s 16th Anniversary Home Season! The project focuses on migration from Asia to North and South America, highlighting on the global front stories of resilience, challenge and transformation, and the impact of migrant communities in the Americas on culture, food, music, dance, art, language, spirituality, tradition, and the building of societies and economies at large.
Lenora Lee Dance has served over 175,000 through: 1) An annual performance season featuring world premieres of its work. 2) Local performances. 3) Touring. 4) Civic engagement programs – workshops, residencies, lectures, panels. 5) Museum and Gallery installations. 6) Films.
It integrates contemporary dance, film, music, text, and research, and weaves together multiple artistic disciplines. It strives to generate artistic work that engages deeply the connections between individuals, community and collective memory, through creative processes, research, and public involvement.
