Project Description
With support from the California Arts Council, Lenora Lee Dance will create and present “In Visibility” a series of performances and community dialogues May 2023, part 2 in a trilogy focusing on the separation of families, and mass detention of immigrants and refugees as a form of incarceration.
Organization Summary
Lenora Lee Dance has served over 175,000 through: 1) An annual performance season featuring world premieres of its work. 2) Local performances. 3) Touring. 4) Civic engagement programs – workshops, residencies, lectures, panels. 5) Museum and Gallery installations. 6) Films.
It integrates contemporary dance, film, music, text, and research, and weaves together multiple artistic disciplines. It strives to generate artistic work that engages deeply the connections between individuals, community and collective memory, through creative processes, research, and public involvement.
