Project Description
With support from the California Arts Council, Lenora Lee Dance will implement its 2020-2022 Organizational Engagement Initiative. Funds from this grant will help support paid part-time positions for Artistic Director Lenora Lee, Company Manager Shannon Preto, and Marketing & Outreach Associate Hien Huynh.
Organization Summary
Lenora Lee Dance has served over 175,000 through: 1) An annual performance season featuring world premieres of its work. 2) Local performances. 3) Touring. 4) Civic engagement programs – workshops, residencies, lectures, panels. 5) Museum and Gallery installations. 6) Films.
It integrates contemporary dance, film, music, text, and research, and weaves together multiple artistic disciplines. It strives to generate artistic work that engages deeply the connections between individuals, community and collective memory, through creative processes, research, and public involvement.
