With support from the California Arts Council, La Peña Cultural Center will offer a one-week, bilingual Summer Camp exploring Latin & Caribbean culture to youth ages 7-11. This program will be taught by 3 teaching artists specializing in different disciplines. Maria de la Rosa will instruct the children in Son Jarocho, folkloric Mexican song and dance. Hector Lugo will teach them drumming and songs from the Caribbean. Laura Salazar will instruct on the art of making murals.
