With support from the California Arts Council, LA Stage Alliance will will use funds for general operational support, facilitating the opportunity to pursue an ambitious suite of programs, some aimed at new audiences and underserved populations. The programs we seek to support through the CAC in 2018 are (1.) Provide schoolchildren access to local theater performances/ acting/writing workshops, (2.) Host six community town halls, (3.) Increase the visibility of our members through marketing.
LA STAGE Alliance’s core programs include:
COMMUNITY EVENTS: Town halls and forums
ARTS JOURNALISM: @ThisStage (http://thisstage.la/)
LA STAGE DAY: community-convening event that brings together hundreds of artists, arts leaders, arts patrons and arts supporters.
THE OVATION AWARDS: Created in 1989, the Ovation Awards were created as the only peer based awards show for Southern California.
ONLINE HUB PORTAL FOR ALL LA THEATER AND EVENTS WITH DISCOUNT TICKETING: OnStage.LA (www.onstage.la), an online platform where audiences can locate what’s playing in their neighborhoods, on a particular date and with their favorite actors/participants.
ADVOCACY: The Alliance promotes the field in the at large arts community, identifies challenges and develops services and programs to address issues.
MEMBERSHIP: Intimate, mid-size and large size theaters become members to partake in our services and the Ovation Awards. There are various levels of memberships to support all size theaters.
