Project Description

With support from the California Arts Council, KQED Inc. will write, direct and produce a 6-episode season of “Behind the Lens,” a multimedia program highlighting independent filmmakers, with personal stories about their filmmaking processes and the inspirations for their films. “Behind the Lens” will bring KQED video producers together with underrepresented filmmakers and students to build community and share the powerful stories that unfold outside the frame.

● 800,000 average weekly listeners to KQED 88.5FM (largest radio audience in the Bay Area)
● 1.8 million+ average monthly users for kqed.org

KQED NEWS is a trusted community resource providing the public with facts, multiple viewpoints, and civil debate about issues and ideas, stories and solutions.

KQED ARTS exposes residents of California to a wide range of rich arts and cultural offerings, making the arts accessible to communities through all KQED media channels: television, radio, and online.

KQED EDUCATION provides educators with multimedia content, student activities and professional development tools.
