Project Description
With support from the California Arts Council, KOREATOWN OAKLAND will establish an Artist Incubation Zone at the Oakland First Fridays community arts and culture festival. 24 artists will be given free and discounted vendor space at the event for up to 9 months, along with education and mentoring on business and promotion, and track data on their outcomes, and success of social media and to hold an evaluation meeting with them every month, and facilitate connections to gallery curators.
Organization Summary
Advocate for local property owners, promote local business, promote public safety through neighborhood ambassadors, beautify the neighborhood with public art and, through Oakland First Fridays, provide a platform for emerging artists, performers and entrepreneurs, and a valued arts and culture event for the community.
