Project Description
With support from the CAC the Imaginists will conduct two free after school programs for Santa Rosa youth from underserved communities; New Filmmaker’s Cohort, an intensive film production class for ten young filmmakers to write and produce their own 20 minute short films, and Theater Lab, a 12 week devising theater workshop at Piner HS, a Title 1 one school in northwest Santa Rosa that currently offers no theater arts programming.
Organization Summary
Our programming includes: the creation of new contemporary works in collaboration with Bay Area artists and community members, bilingual (Spanish and English) classes and performances, theater residencies in Title 1 public schools, after-school and summer youth workshops, paid internships and residencies for transitional youth (ages 18-25), and community-based and site-specific projects in collaboration with local community organizations.
