Kings And Clowns Inc / Arts Alive will create weekly music and dance programs for students aged 5-14 in Los Angeles and Hawthorne elementary schools. Six teaching artists will develop the music and dance skills of over 600 students with violin, guitar, ukulele, keyboard, and ballet jazz and hip hop dance. The students who attend our classes will give up to three performances within their communities to share their newly acquired arts skills.
Since 2000, Arts Alive hires and trains experienced teaching artists to teach our multidisciplinary arts curriculum over 9 partner elementary schools. With support from public funds, tuition and donors, Arts Alive offers over 90 classes every week to 300 students between ages 5 and 13. Classes are taught by specific subject or orchestration such as Keyboard, Violin, Ukulele, Guitar, Ballet, and more. During the summer months, our 5-week intensive theatre and arts camp is open to all students entering grade 1 through 8 and from any school.
Once dedicated Arts Alive students graduate from eighth grade they are advanced into the Arts Alive Ambassador group who carry out events, high school work skills training within the arts industry, and more. For all of our Administration, Teaching Staff and Students, every effort is made to carry out our curriculum while upholding Arts Alive’s core values including Innovation, Teamwork, and Creativity.
