Project Description
With support from California Arts Council, JAZZANTIQUA INC will provide stipends for the company artistic director and for the youth programs director in support of the organization’s ongoing commitment to community-based jazz dance education, preservation and creation. A mission that honors jazz as a vital thread in the cultural fabric of Black history and heritage and, in turn, a defining element of the American experience.
Organization Summary
Jazzantiqua’s core programs and services include: performances, community dance classes, professional dance training and master classes, lecture-demonstrations, panel discussions, jazz music and dance improvisation workshops, community dialogues, apprenticeships and internships, mini-conferences, K-12 school programs and college presentations.
