With support from the California Arts Council, JAMESTOWN COMMUNITY CENTER INC will provide artistic residencies during the 2019-2020 school year at Downtown High School as a part of their school day curriculum. Residencies will include instruction in Afro-Latino percussion, music and performance for high school students. Based in Creative Youth Development and Artivism frameworks, these programs focus on empowering youth to use art to overcome discrimination and create positive change.
Our programs include tutoring, before and after school academic enrichment, summer programs, social/emotional support, sports, youth workforce, parent leadership development and organizing, and arts education.
