Wtih support from the California Arts Council, the Italian American Arts and Culture Association of San Diego will hire a consultant to facilitate the organization’s transfer from its current fiscal year to one that will more closely correlate with the organization’s programmatic season and with the goverment’s fiscal year. The fiscal year change will markedly improve year-long fiscal and program planning, fundraising, and ong-term sustainabilty efforts
What started with a few films shown at the House of Italy has grown to year-round programs in both San Diego and North County. Our Italian specialists curate, structure and produce several projects throughout the year, which succeed thanks to the hard work of our many volunteers. Our main event is the fall feStivale, a two-week period where the best in current (and sometimes classic) Italian cinema is assembled for screenings, discussions and events. We also organize two different monthly series throughout the year, one at the Museum of Photographic Arts in Balboa Park and one at La Paloma Theatre in Encinitas, (North County Coastal).
In addition to nearly 30 film screenings annually, we host events in the community and work with arts and social organizations and artists to bring their unique perspectives and performances to our different projects. For each individual film, we seek to partner with subject-appropriate local organizations to cross-promote our events and organizations and produce satellite events connected to our screenings.
