With support from the California Arts Council, International City Theatre will offer 15 scholarships to cover tuition and operating fees for underprivileged youth to join an in-depth arts education program, the Summer Youth Conservatory. Through classes in acting, music, dance, and playwriting, students develop vital theatre and life skills that stimulate imagination, creativity, and critical thinking. Moreover, they learn the value of teamwork and how to express themselves with confidence.
Every year, ICT’s five mainstage productions and six education programs (offered throughout the region) touch the lives of approximately 25,000 children, families, adults, and seniors, from every ethnic and economic background, including those at risk of being culturally under-served due to a lack of access to affordable artistic programming. Included in our five mainstage production season, we strive to offer premieres of exciting and challenging new works that are relevant to life today.
Our six education programs include: Performing Arts Classroom Teaching, Low-Income Senior Outreach, Free Saturday Family Theatre Series, Summer Youth Conservatory, Students to Stage, and ICT’s Internship Program
