With support from the California Arts Council, International City Theatre will be able to offer 15 scholarships for underprivileged youth from financially disadvantaged families to join its most in-depth arts education program, the Summer Youth Conservatory. Through lessons in acting, dance and music, students age 7-15 develop theatre skills that stimulate creativity and imagination, while also encouraging teamwork and confidence.
Every year, ICT’s five mainstage productions and six education programs (offered throughout the region) touch the lives of approximately 25,000 children, families, adults, and seniors, from every ethnic and economic background, including those at risk of being culturally under-served due to a lack of access to affordable artistic programming. Included in our five mainstage production season, we strive to offer premieres of exciting and challenging new works that are relevant to life today.
Our six education programs include: Performing Arts Classroom Teaching, Low-Income Senior Outreach, Free Saturday Family Theatre Series, Summer Youth Conservatory, Students to Stage, and ICT’s Internship Program
