With the support of the from the California Arts Council, Instituto Mazatlán Bellas Artes will create a multi-faucet arts-based after-school project to be held in the community setting of IMBA Center in the heart of the disenfranchised community of Oak Park in Sacramento, CA. This project will use visual and performing arts to introduce early learners to arts as a form of self-expression.
Instituto Mazatlán Bellas Artes de Sacramento (IMBA) is a multi-faceted non-profit venture driven toward the diffusion of all art forms and community services. We achieve this through academy programs, our professional folk dance touring company, community outreach, fundraising, community service programs and projects.
• ACADEMY PROGRAMS, hosts classes for school-aged youth through adulthood;
• PROFESSIONAL PERFORMING ARTS COMPANY, Ballet Folklórico de Sacramento, (BFS), which offers fee-based productions to performing arts venues, regional festivals and events;
• COMMUNITY OUTREACH, activities that provide both fee-based and non-fee based workshops, presentation, and instruction in dance and music to schools, community centers, organizations and individuals.
• FUNDRAISING efforts which raise capital for IMBA’s activities through organizational-sponsored performances at Sacramento theaters, arts venues, and community events, also donor engagement and grant solicitations.
• COMMUNITY SERVICE PROGRAMS AND PROJECTS, activities that focus on current community issues in the areas of health, wellness and individual empowerment.
