Project Description

The Indian Performing Arts Center acts a hub for the preservation and propagation of Indian classical dance and music in Los Angeles. Our organization specializes in training community members in the art of Kathak, a classical dance of India, which includes lessons in music, movement, history, cultural heritage and social relationships. Through an inclusive approach to teaching and producing original work, we honor the mixed life experiences of our American community, made up of immigrants, locals, and everyone who has come to call Los Angeles home. The Indian classical art traditions are built to engage with a variety of identity expressions, and we at IPAC are committed to upholding the core values of classical music and dance in the environment of Los Angeles through our arts programming.
