Organization Summary

IFAASD stages very unique Indian classical music, dance and arts programs through out the year (about 18 events per year). In addition, it also stages a week long festival under the theme, “oneness of the universe”. In addition, a two day north American youth festival is staged by selecting artists below 30 years from north America. A number of lecture demonstrations (academic sessions) and workshops are conducted throughout the year by eminent scholars and musicologists for people interested in learning about Indian culture. IFAASD also showcases local talent by inviting a total of 125 students from San Diego, between 6 and 21 years. These students, are trained by several local teachers six months in advance. The intense practice sessions provide these students an opportunity to learn the complex nuances of Indian classical music and dance.
