Independent Arts & Media’s mission is to steward and empower independent art and media projects that foster community and civic participation, and facilitate cultural engagement and free expression.

Our core programs are fiscal sponsorship and professional development workshops for artists and media producers primarily in the San Francisco Bay Area. We currently sponsor over 60 projects in media and the arts, including theater, dance, music, visual art, literary art, film and video, publishing, and journalism. Our ultimate vision is to strengthen a culture of democracy by cultivating art and media projects that engage neighbors in civic life.
