With support from the California Arts Council, HOUSING WORKS will offer Writing Works, a writing workshop and spoken word performance program, to people in Los Angeles who are formerly incarcerated and have lived experience of homelessness, addiction and recovery. Funding will enable Housing Works to: 1) provide a group reflection process, writing and performance program to 40-50 individuals); 2) stage three public performances, filming one for community awareness and engagement purposes.
Housing Works (HW) is one of Los Angeles’ most effective housing agencies, serving more than 750 individuals with lived experience of chronic homelessness, severe and persistent mental illness, addiction, recovery and addiction in permanent supportive housing.
