With support from the California Arts Council, HIGHLAND PARK INDEPENDENT FILM FESTIVAL will secure the rental of the Highland Theatre for the next two years and secure the much needed position of a publicist and social media coordinator along with increased marketing materials for the next two years to elevate the outreach and marketing of our programming.
We believe in fostering emerging and established filmmakers by providing forums for screening projects, networking with industry professionals, and mentoring student filmmakers. To this end, our organization consists of three essential components: the Highland Park Independent Film Festival (HPIFF), which is an annual three-day event held in October featuring the works of independent filmmakers from Highland Park and around the world; the HPIFilmFest Community Series, which consists of film programs and indoor and outdoor screenings designed to build community through film in Northeast Los Angeles; and the HPIFF Mentorship Program, which offers film education to schools throughout Northeast Los Angeles.
