Project Description

The mission of the Girls Self-Esteem Program’s Raising the Barre arts program is to provide classical ballet training, as well as educational and performance opportunities to youth and adults in under-served communities in Sacramento, Northern Sacramento and East Oakland. Taught in a culturally diverse, encouraging and accepting environment, ballet is used to build self-esteem, and teach discipline, with emphasis on the importance of carrying ones-self with poise, grace, and dignity. Proudly we dance in honor of pride and unity in our community.
