With support from the California Arts council, Genryu Arts will implement its 25th Annual Season of programming featuring the Japan Week Festival, Summer Cultural Intensive Training Program, artist residencies at the Japanese Bilingual Bicultural Program at Clarendon Elementary School and at Chibi Chan pre-school, our Fall Recital, Children’s Day Festival, and the premiere of Melody Takata interdisciplinary work at San Francisco International Arts Festival.
In its 29th year GenRyu Arts has served over 1,500,000 people from the Asian American and multiracial community of the San Francisco Bay Area through:
-Performances at public events and festivals by its professional ensemble featuring traditional works and contemporary interdisciplinary collaborations
-Studio Gen, a pop-up art space that features exhibitions, cultural workshops, and artist dialogues currently located in the Japan Center East Mall
– A Japantown-based Taiko and Dance school.
-School-site residencies and assembly performances.
