With support from the California Arts Council, the Gallo Center for the Arts will provide 250 fourth grade students from Patterson, California with an in-classroom reader’s theater workshop; admission to the Gallo Center’s performance of “Children of the Dust Bowl,” including transportation; and a post-show talkback with the cast and crew from the performance.
Present diverse performers and performances from around the world to the area: Through a diverse schedule of approximately 150 performances annually, GCA entertains and educates audiences from throughout the San Joaquin Valley. Nearly 200,000 patrons visit the Center each year.
Offer motivating arts education programs: The Center’s arts education program for TK-12 students, reaches nearly 50,000 students annually through student matinee performances, touring prevention programs, after school programs, a summer arts camp, and a 9-week summer theater intensive for youth, grades 7-12.
Provide a venue for the area’s leading performing arts organizations and community organizations: In addition to the performances presented by the Gallo Center for the Arts, the Center is also home to five resident companies. These organizations benefit from additional marketing opportunities and streamlined ticket sales. Local community groups and services organizations also utilize GCA to host events.
