With support from the California Arts Council, the Fresno Art Museum will send Esther Patch, our registrar, to the California Association of Museum’s 2019 Annual Conference being held in San Francisco, CA. The grant will be used for registration fees, transportation, and hotel expenses. As an emerging museum professional it would be an invaluable opportunity for professional development for her and our institution.
The Fresno Art Museum acknowledges visual art as a manifestation of human expression. As a forum for the discussion of aesthetic concepts, the Fresno Art Museum’s mission is to serve the people of the Central San Joaquin Valley and the surrounding region with the following:
• A program of changing exhibitions with a focus on Modern and Contemporary art, emphasizing the work of California artists.
• A Permanent Collection of art including modern and contemporary art of regional, national, and international significance, and Latin American art from the pre-Columbian era to the present.
• Educational programs relating to both changing exhibitions and works held in the Permanent Collection designed for a range of ages and interest levels, many developed to promote individual creative expression.
• The encouragement, promotion, and fostering of activities and presentations which would aim to increase public interest in art, literature, music, and theatre.
