With support from the California Arts Council, ESPERANZA DEL VALLE INC will produce quality programming of Mexican folkloric dance and create pathways for artistic and administrative growth into the new decade. Through classes, open studios, community and theater performances we will outreach to Latino youth and families, build new audiences and engage our community members. EDV is dedicated to artistic growth and development and to creating new platforms of social media and outreach.
Esperanza del Valle (EDV) provides free bi-weekly rehearsals to members of the dance company and offers beginning/intermediate classes to interested dancers. We annually invite master teachers to work directly to the dance company, working on style, partner relationship and choreography. EDV presents a two-hour gala performance each year in full costume. Costumes are repaired/created for performing dancers. EDV creates opportunities for community members and other folkloric dance companies and local college and university students and opportunity to work with our visiting master instructors through open studios. We annually perform in our community for cultural events like Cinco de Mayo, Fiestas Patrias, Music in the Park, and Friday Farmer’s Market.
