Project Description
With support from the California Arts Council, Embodiment Project will create Decolonized Honey (working title) — an original work of documentary hip hop dance theater that engages a critical conversation conversation around the root cause of sexual violence and the myriad journeys to healing. The premiere at Dance Mission Theater will be admission-free and open to the public.
Organization Summary
Embodiment Project’s year-round activities include street dance classes for youth and adults; workshops and conversations about hip hop histories; and annual performances of new evening-length works performed in both San Francisco and Oakland in order to reach broad audiences throughout the Bay Area. Our communities served include dance audiences, Bay Area POC communities, street dance enthusiasts, and youth.
