With support from the California Arts Council, Center for the Arts Eagle Rock (CFAER), will provide in-depth, after-school teaching residencies for six contemporary artists in local elementary and middle schools. The residencies will be a part of CFAER’s Afterschool Arts: Imagine Studio program, which provides free, standards-based, after-school arts enrichment programs for students ages 6-12 in underserved Northeast LA schools, all with Title I status and limited arts offerings.
CFAER presents arts and education programs year-round at the Center and throughout the community at no or very little cost. Programming includes concerts, readings, film screenings, and community artist collaborations, visual art exhibitions and an annual art auction, the NELA Music Series, children’s summer and winter arts camps, year-round children’s and adults’ workshops, and a youth animation program. CFAER’s educational outreach program, Imagine Studio, brings arts programming and local teaching artists into underserved Northeast LA elementary and middle school classrooms, providing free, standards-based arts instruction.
