With support from the California Arts Council, Dogtown Artists United will execute its yearly program, which consists in producing a free community art event in Venice Beach, California. The organization is out of funds as it was unable to do fundraising events in 2020 and 2021.
The Organization produces one main, large event, in Venice Beach, on a public area accessible by anyone. The last event took place in October 2024 and the next one is scheduled for October 2025.
The event takes place over the course of 2 days and is mostly free (12pm-6pm free, between 6pm and 9pm we ask for a donation) and open to everyone. It displays large scale art installations, mostly interactive, art cars with music and performances. Visitors are encouraged to participate and get involved by activating art, participating to performances and various interactive activities, panels and workshops.
The main goal of this event is to promote inclusivity and involve different communities, in particular those communities who recently feel marginalized because of the ongoing Venice gentrification, by creating a space where the mentioned communities feels welcome and included.
Moreover, the Organization produces smaller art events and fundraiser throughout the year.
