Project Description
With support from the California Arts Council, DDSO/The Short Center Repertory will create 3 distinct performance-workshop weekends addressed to the communities of and designed by actors who are deaf, or blind or live with developmental disabilities, bridged by weekly open studio sessions in theatrical clown technique taught by a master clown teacher, accessible to all.
Organization Summary
DDSO runs four multidisciplinary art centers serving Sacramento and San Joaquin Counties, and one life skills program for adults with severe and profound disabilities. Outreach programs include a touring theatre company (The Short Center Repertory), a public art mural project, and an online archive of artists with developmental disabilities.
